My Story

Joseph Foright, MS, CSCS

I feel my greatest asset is the ability to relate to you — because I’ve been there. Before my 30th birthday, I had already undergone back surgery and spent years fighting chronic pain and fatigue. Even routine daily tasks felt impossible at times. On top of that, I carried the weight of perfectionism — the constant pressure to push harder, do more, and never quite measure up.

The Turning Point

For more than a decade, I searched tirelessly to find what truly works. What I discovered is that healing isn’t just about physical training — it requires addressing the body, the mind, and the soul together. Through that process, I became deeply interested in how perfectionism and chronic stress impact the nervous system, often trapping us in cycles of tension, fatigue, and pain.

Why I Do This Work

That personal journey led me to my passion: helping others break free of these cycles so they can restore balance and reclaim the healthy, pain-free life they deserve.

Many of the people drawn to my work are former athletes whose bodies feel worn down, individuals managing chronic fatigue or inflammation, or people who identify as perfectionists, empaths, or highly sensitive. What they all have in common is a desire to release what’s stuck, regulate their stress, and reconnect to their natural resilience

My Background

I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in Sport & Exercise Science, with an emphasis in the social psychology of sport and physical activity. Since graduate school, I’ve researched the links between perfectionism, stress, and health while teaching others how these patterns affect both body and mind.

My professional background includes working with professional and collegiate athletes, advanced youth soccer players, outpatient rehab patients, and clients of all ages. Today, I specialize in helping people move past stress, tension, and emotional stuckness into greater freedom and flow.

Credentials

  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, NSCA
  • EXOS Performance Specialist
  • Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Certified
  • Comprehensively trained in stretch therapy (recognized by the National Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork)

My Approach

I take a holistic view of health — considering the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual together. My sessions combine corrective exercise, stretch therapy, and nervous system reset practices like breathwork, journaling, and mindfulness. I also incorporate subtle energy work through my Reiki practice when appropriate, supporting deeper relaxation, release, and balance. The goal is to correct imbalances, release tension, restore mobility, and integrate body and mind so you can live more fully in the present moment.

An Invitation

If you’ve been living in cycles of pain, fatigue, or perfectionism, you don’t have to stay stuck there. I’d love to help you release what your body is holding, restore balance, and reclaim the active, fulfilling life you deserve.
